It's perfect for a date night, pre-drinks before going out-out, catching up with friends and discovering new DJs, old-heads and undiscovered tunes. It’s a sociable hub for music lovers, creatives and friendly faces. It’s not open late so I’d recommend not after 8pm if you want a good shift. They serve Pan-Asian fusion food and cocktails, the menu is mouthwatering! Ask for Dean Chew, one of the co-founders of the label Darker Than Wax runs this place. He’s a sweet, sweet soul.

Perfect for a casual catch-up with your friends. The crowd is a lot of East-siders - so some really laid back people. The Sunset is beautiful around the East Coast, it feels really nostalgic, so I’d say [pull up] at 7pm just before the evening sets in. They serve Beers and spirits, as well as some hard-hitting Thai food. The spot is run by a really chill older couple, I used to work here actually!

The vibe is perfect for if you’re craving some authentic Chinese seafood whilst having a catch up with some friends/family, THIS is the place you need to hit up. Almost exclusively local Singaporean folk and long time Singapore residents. It’s definitely a hidden gem. The stingray, fried rice and sambal kangkong are my go to dishes. If you haven’t tried Stingray, it has a soft meat texture that essentially melts in your mouth.

It’s affordable Dim Sum, so the vibe is perfect for any occasion! You have 100s of options and insanely quick service. The place is almost lmost always local Singaporeans, another hidden gem. You should order lime juice with sour plum, xiao long bao (Shanghai soup dumplings), siu mai, fried prawn dumplings, wanton, crab meat sauce with mantou... basically anything to be honest. I could order everything twice over.

It’s the perfect place to end your night out. I’d always end up here after the club with a group of friends. I'd say the crowd is a mix between people who want to watch football and drunk club-goers. Order the roti-prata with fish/chicken/lamb curry or dhal if you’re vegan/vegetarian.

You can get to the island by hopping on a ferry for under $20 SGD from Marina South Pier. I’d recommend the 10am ferry just so you get a full day out. Definitely bring your own food and water to St John’s Island because they don’t sell any!

It’s super affordable to get to Pulau Ubin - it costs under $5 SGD for a single trip. You can get a bumboat at Changi Point Ferry Terminal which usually takes around 15min. You can also bring your own bicycle here or rent one when you’re there. It’s also probably a good shout to bring your own water & snacks even though you can find food there. My favorite thing to do is kayaking along the mangroves, surreal.

This is a spot you go to at 3/4AM. It's a place you would have never imagined in Singapore. Nickname is 'four floors of whores," however, it's not as seedy as it sounds. Bands play your dad's favourite songs all night long and you bump into all sorts of people from families, travellers or visiting DJs. It's weird and wonderful all mixed into one.

Get laksa, char kway teow, oyster omelette, chicken wings and black carrot cake.

This is weird and wonderful at the same time. Singapore Centre is split into 3 areas: Little India, Arab Ttreet and China Town. Each area has its on level of uniqueness to it.

Mustafa's is a shopping complex that is open 24 hrs and has everything that you need. I mean everything. Socks are placed next to lamps. Steaks next to watches. It's just an amazing experience. Go have a look for 15 mins and then eat the food that's around.

Saturday/Sunday only. BBQ, good music, food and margaritas.

My favourite tourist spot in Singapore. Having been open for over a decade, the park is half family tomb, half shop of horrors. The infamous Ten Courts of Hell features small-scale tableaux that show human sinners being punished in gory and graphic detail.

If you're a music lover this is your spot. It's by appointment only so ring ahead. You'll find old Cantonese disco tracks you never knew you couldn't live without.

Go here and stay for a while. The bartender will be playing music you've never heard before whilst you get nicely warm with high quality saka.

The best club in Singapore bringing the best music and entertainment. Benji B, Yasmin, Talib Kweli, Nubya Garcia, Chromeo, Breakbot have all played there. Make sure you look online to see whats going on. Buy tickets in advance, the queues are a bitch.
