"It's times like these where we can learn new things and finesse our crafts. And when this is all over, that's when we can push the new ideas out."
Our second postcard comes all the way from Hong Kong, courtesy of creative and local, Tedman Lee. Read here to see how life is panning out on this tiny island and the advice Tedman has for the community.
How are you feeling about the pandemic?
It's definitely a wild experience and something our generation had never experienced before. Our daily habits and social culture have both been affected and changed.
Being in Hong Kong, there was certainly a lot of panic in the beginning of all this due to our geography and how compact / dense the city is. The sense of paranoia and lack of trust for our government has certainly helped raise self-awareness for everyone. People were cautious and kept a high level of hygiene and wore masks everywhere and it's definitely been a big factor.
How have you seen this affect your community?
It's definitely affected the community a lot with everything that we're involved in getting cancelled, everything ranging from video and photo shoots, jobs, festivals, events and parties, production, etc. And the situation is changing everyday so there’s really nothing we can expect or predict as far as planning things.
Have you seen any silver linings from this experience?
There's certainly a sense of hope for the creative community. We've gotten to a point in the past few years where it felt like everything seemed oversaturated and there's simply too much of everything that we thought was cool before. It's definitely a good time to step back from all these things and find some peace and recharge.

What are your top five essentials in isolation?
Masks and sanitizers
Music and movies; I've been revisiting music videos and movies that made me fall in love with doing what I do
What is your message to our global community?
Masks on. Wash your hands. Be considerate of others and don’t do stupid shit. I know it's definitely difficult at the moment but just know that after we get through the situation we can travel, party, and create as much as we want.
