Discover Takoradi with Pappy Kojo

Takoradi is a very close knit town where everybody literally knows everybody. It is a typical coastal city and is less busy and peaceful compared to other cities in Accra. It is an amazing spot for vacationing and the people of Takoradi remain as welcoming as ever. Takoradi was just a fishing village until it was chosen as Ghana's first deep-water seaport; since then it has prospered. Now feeding on Ghana's oil industry, Takoradi (or Taadi, as it's known) is growing larger by the day. People from around the world visit the shore, both for its serene beaches and to enjoy the fresh seafood served right on the sands.

Pappy Kojo is a Ghanaian rapper and musician, whos contribution to Ghana's music scene brought a much-needed spotlight to the oil-rich port city of Takoradi. He constantly pushes the culture of the coastal city through their unique lingo and accent, as well as fashion and style, and is pushing forward the conversation around LGBTQI+ rights in the country. Frantic city life awaits a short distance inland in Pappy’s guide, from the best beaches to his favourite restaurants, explore Takoradi with Pappy Kojo.

Ahanta waves

Ahanta waves inside Busia is a good spot to grab lunch after a long day. My favorite meals on the menu are the spaghetti Bolognese and their fried yam and grilled chicken.

Takoradi beach and the Secondi beach

Takoradi has some of the best beaches in the world. Two of my favorites are the Takoradi beach and the secondi beach. It is a good spot to just chill and relax.

EffiaKuma

EffiaKuma is definitely one of my favorite places in Takoradi. This was where I spent most of my childhood. Driving around the place still brings back a lot of memories. While in EffiaKuma, you can grab some of your favorite Ghanaian meals at the God is Love chop bar.

Bella Vista

My favorite place in Takoradi hands down is Bella Vista at Inchaban. I specifically love Bella Vista for their original Italian pasta and pizza. It is also an Airbnb spot for anyone looking for a place to stay while in Takoradi. Highly recommended.

Busea Beach Resort

Busea Beach Resort is a good spot for anyone looking to take a vacation in Takoradi. Clean beach, amazing food and service. You can also take a trip to the Crab Island using a canoe if you are feeling adventurous.

Takoradi Mall

Takoradi Mall is a good place to eat, hangout with friends and just chill. You might spot a graffiti of me around the corner. Be sure to take a picture and tag me on social media *laughs*

Two Fingers

Two fingers is a good spot to hang out with your friends and grab a drink.
