Tokyo with Keem De Peralta

Keem De Peralta for Trippin
Keem De Peralta

Keem De Peralta calls home a feeling rather than a place, and for now, Tokyo is his calling. This crazy, sensorial city seems to be as exciting and random as Keem's choice of lifestyle; building pre-schools by day, throwing parties and DJing by night and on top of that, running a kitchen collective, called Las Cruzadas, that bridges food and street culture. Tokyo is always on the move and it seems Keem knows how to keep up. Scroll down for his favourite spots around this dazzling city...

Berry Naka-Meguro

This is where I first met the people I am involved with creatively right now. Some friends and people that I know used to throw the sickest parties here. The place has a pingpong table, a few couches, and a mad soundsystem. It's pretty sick too because it's kind of hidden, as it is located in a kind of abandoned building. Had some pretty crazy nights here before.

MAKOTO

This place has the best uni pasta in all of Tokyo! Creamy and full! They also serve a bunch of rare stuff like Basashi (Horse meat) and Malaysian Duck! Super hidden and pretty exotic. The beef shank stew is to die for!

Go Go Curry

Out of all the commercial Japanese curry spots, Go go curry is the best because the flavour is not very strong, but very savoury and a little bit sweet. You can get the Omori size, it has tonkatsu, ebi katsu, sausages, and curry that'l feed 2-3 people.

Hitsumabushi Bincho

My favorite Japanese dish of all time is a dish from Nagoya's "Hitsumabushi"! Its unagi (eel) on top of rice with a very bomb ass soup that you mix with the rice to make a rice porridge! Hitsumabushi is definitely the best out here in Tokyo.
