All City

"This is home to me. The only record shop I walk into and get that same sense of warmth and security you feel when you get home after a long day. I grew up in this shop and its played a vital role in every aspect of my creative life. Too many stories to tell and very few that are appropriate to share, but Olan, who runs the shop, has incredible taste so all the bins are stocked with what you need to get down"

A-1 Records

"A New York staple and a haven for diggers alike. If you asked 50 diggers what their dream NY record store would be like then this would be it. Aesthetically it's perfect! A grimy shutter, which leads into a room exploding with wax and naturally being smacked in the centre of the universe guarantees that some of the best records in the world exchange hands in here on a daily basis.

It was the first record store in NY I was ever in and still to this day a trip to the apple ain't the same without a wee pooch to the East Village to check the disco crates on the back left. TBH it has gotten kinda pricey, BUT in a city so big it's nice to be guaranteed that you'll find what you are looking for and that's worth the extra few bucks"

Superior Elevation

"The birth child of Tom and Ellen Noble whose aim (as he told me himself) was to make the illest record store around catering to all the little details record nerds love! And boy do they do it. From the specifically strong dope green plastic bags to the extensive categorisation of their records makes it hard to knock anything about this spot.

Deep in Bushwick, Superior has been running about town buying up some insane collections. Tom is known on the scene as a legend when it comes to finding rarities so naturally this talent prescribes itself well to finding dope shit to fill the bins. Be it an old dancer from the paradise garage to a failed jazz musician from the L.E.S, Tom has found them and has stacked their collections to the brim in their store in BK. Fairly priced and worth the cheeky uber to check out"

Demon Fuzz

"I've been to countless amazing record shops and if I could remember the address of the spot in Singapore I went to then that would most definitely get a mention, but one spot in particular holds a sentimental value that I will never forget and that is Demon Fuzz. My first ever international gig as an artist was in Rotterdam and I, like most DJs when given extra time in a new city, wanted to go record shopping. Demon Fuzz is located not far from the train station and is relatively positioned in the city centre.

Everything is overwhelmingly well organised so I suggest bringing your wishlist as it will be a lot easier to go thru bits. For me, it is special because I had never properly bought records in Europe so it was a buzz to buy European pressings of certain disco hits and even some banging house stuff"
