London Record Digging with Errol

Errol is a DJ/broadcaster, curator and founder of steadily rising, South London-based musical movement (club night, concert series, record label and radio show), Touching Bass. Influenced by his Caribbean heritage and the richness of black music’s lineage, the monthly Touching Bass 'dance' has become a true playground for musical exploration. Most recently, Errol has broadened his interests across creative mediums, collaborating with the likes of UK menswear designer, Nicholas Daley, on his Slygo SS19 season and music supervision roles for Jenn Nkiru’s (Beyonce, Neneh Cherry) ‘Black To Techno’. His guide features the best places to go crate digging across London city.

Supertone Records

"Bricky's finest. Wally's knowledge of Caribbean music is encyclopaedic. Make sure you roll to Eat of Eden afterwards to replenish."

Music & Video Exchange

"Mostly secondhand bits from across the musical spectrum. Warning: no listening booths; YouTube is your friend."

Sounds of the Universe

"A well-known one, but for good reason. A real mixed bag of records — new and old."

Reckless Records

"Another Soho spot (special mention to Jean-Claude's If Music too). Solid selection, very reasonably priced and knowledgable staff. Gwan."

Cosmos Records

"A little on the pricey side but easily one of the best spots for soul, jazz, funk and the like — one of my favourites and the whole team is lovely."

Rye Wax

"Always a friendly vibe down there and they're always supporting local music. I don’t go here enough TBH."

Honest Jon's Records

"If you're out west, take a peek in here for the goodness. If you're in central/north, check out their smaller store in Kings Cross"
