Guarionex Rodriguez, Jr. is a Dominican-American artist based in Brooklyn, NY. A graduate of the Massachusetts College of Art and Design (BFA, 2011), Rodriguez is also a member of the photography collective Mycelia Collective. His work explores themes of community and identity through the lens of diasporic unity and niche musical movements, often incorporating analog techniques to add abstraction and intimacy to his imagery.
Rodriguez’s art has been featured in Forgotten Lands, Hola Pardo, It’s Nice That and Musée Magazine, and exhibited at Busan’s Museum of Contemporary Art. A celebrated photographer, he was a finalist for Aperture’s 2023 Portfolio Prize, Lucie Foundation’s 2023 Open Call, and was long-listed for Foam Talent Call 2023.
