Bonanza

Set in the deep, verdant green of the Colombian jungle on the banks of the Buritaca river, this “fierce little festival” promises to be an unforgettable rave experience.

Entering its sixth edition this year, the team behind Bonanza are meticulous about the curation, showcasing a lineup that guarantees slamming sets of perreo, and the broad spectrum of rhythms and genres thriving across Latin America. There’s an emphasis on bass-heavy globe-spanning genres too, with the team featuring Latin American and international selectors on the programme. This year's line up features acts including Aurora Halal, Vera and Nicolas Duque, all playing amidst the natural beauty of the Caribbean coast.

The setting, of course, is a standout location. Taking place in El Rio Hostel, just over an hour away from Santa Marta International Airport, the surroundings resemble a riverside paradise where the music and the charm of the coast create a blissful symbiosis.

Weather

Santa Marta, Magdalena, typically experiences warm and tropical weather at this time. Average temperatures often range from 24°C to 31°C. February and March are considered to be part of the dry season in this region, so you can expect lower precipitation levels compared to the rest of the year.

Transport

You can take the bus from the Mercado area of Santa Marta heading towards Palomino, which is just over one hour long. Ask the bus driver for El Rio in Buritaca and they should know where to drop you. The entrance to El Rio is 100 metres after the Rio Buritaca bridge. You can either walk down the dirt road for 10-15 minutes or take a trusted moto taxi from the road. El Rio Hostel can also organise transportation to and from Santa Marta and the airport via taxi if you get directly in touch.
