Esteemed human rights lawyer and Director of the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights, Raji Sourani, will deliver the Edward W. Said London Lecture 2024 examining the current war on Gaza and its implication on International Humanitarian Law (IHL). By examining the legal principles of IHL, Sourani confronts the ramifications of Israel’s action on the integrity of this legal framework. Sourani will deliver the lecture alongside respondent Selma Dabbagh.

ROADWORKS: A Performance Piece by Mona Hatoum

In 1985, Palestinian multimedia artist Mona Hatoum created 'ROADWORKS', a performance piece addressing the oppressive burden of police surveillance and brutality. Filmed for a group show by the radical Brixton Art Gallery, it reflects on racialized state violence, resonating with both the Brixton uprisings and Hatoum’s own experiences in her homeland.

'Konkombe: The Nigerian Pop Music Scene' is a film that showcases the evolution of native styles such as juju, Afrobeats and highlife, reflecting Nigeria’s social, political and spiritual currents before gaining global recognition.
