Margins United is our flagship 12-hour day and night music festival that celebrates Alternative East and Southeast Asian culture - the first of its kind in the UK. MilkTea, the organisation that showcases the best of ESEA cinema in the UK, celebrates their 30th anniversary of Wong Kar-wai’s beloved Chungking Express. The whiplash, double-pronged Chungking Express is one of the defining works of 1990s cinema and the film that made Wong Kar-wai an instant icon. Babes with Blades (an Asian-led film collective celebrating the action genre) is throwing a screening of their latest short film production, Split, made in collaboration with SAL Studios and the Standard. The short is an action comedy about two female friends splitting the bill rooted in East Asian paying traditions - starring Ayesha Hussain (Wolverine & Deadpool, MCU) and Alice Hewkin (Brothers Sun, Netflix), directed by Jade Ang Jackman.

I’ve recently heard about this new Vietnamese place in Earl’s Court (opened by the same team behind the iconic Malaysian restaurant Med Salleh Kopitiam in Bayswater). Apparently the menu has amazing wagyu beef and truffle pho so can’t wait to go try it.
