AGY3NA
Born in Nuremberg to Ghanian parents, AGY3NA has travelled worlds in his music. His sets are boldly unrestrained, envisioning a new brand of afrofuturism layered with funk, soul, house and acid.
He moved to Berlin to pursue his artistry, cutting his teeth in the city's music scene, with a show at the iconic Refuge Worldwide and sets at iconic clubs like Berghain and Panorama Bar. "I think I first experienced the queer, and Black influences to music in in Berlin," he says. "Even more as I travelled, but Berlin was a very big gateway."
While he now lives in Leipzig, where he is completing an MA in cognitive science, Berlin continues to be a hugely important hub for his artistry, and he often visits the city for sets and hangouts. "Berlin has a gravity that pulls people in, not just because of music, but anything associated with artistic freedom and being able to express yourself."
