On Saturday, we brought over 200 runners together in East London at a pre-marathon event to celebrate the city's run culture.

Taking place in Knees Up, we hosted a special pre-marathon breakfast just one month ahead of the big day. The event started with a 10km community-led run by Run The Boroughs, who took dozens of runners on a light jog through the greens of the park.

To welcome them back from their run, we invited a trio of kitchens to Knees Up, where they prepared different cuisines that reflected London's delicious diversity. Malaysian foodies Eastern Platters served up crispy roti melts, plant-based Indian eatery En Root dished out a chickpea bap and chia decked porridge, and West African & Caribbean fusion team The Suya Pit offering a mighty ackee and dumplings dish - an unbeatable meal to refuel London's marathon runners ahead of their final push to the end.

Runners were also gifted bags to support them on their marathon journey, with bouquets courtesy of Flavia Studio with each flower specially selected for symbolising good luck in different cultures, while Flowerhead gave out crafted charms specific to the event.

To cool runners down into the ultimate chill out vibe, Run the Boroughs ran warm down sessions across the morning, and the whole event was soundtracked by sets by Selassie TBC, Dare Balogun and Norsicaa.
