A guide on where to enjoy a drink in France's oldest city.

After working in Scotland, Chef Megan upped sticks and lived in London for five years. Later, she moved to Marseille. “I would say I’m someone who takes life as it comes, this is how I’ve landed in the south of France,” she explains.

It's easy to see why someone would move to the oldest city in France. It's increasingly become more of a draw for Londoners looking for a different nightlife and food scene within the south of France. It's certainly become a cultural hotspot for Parisians looking to escape the capital too. "Calling Marseille home after five years in London, it’s a place that’s full of chaos and always [reminds] you to stop and appreciate time," she tells Trippin. "The city reveals more the longer you give it love. The people here love a chat and are unapologetic, even in down seasons the city has so much to offer. With the beach always a walk away, if you want a glass of wine or a cup of mint tea Marseille will always give."

A Moroccan owned wine bar - my number 1 spot for a drink!

Very cute wine bar if you're staying in Le Panier.

Cocktail bar next door to the chapitre, which is just as good with a Scarface-esque interior and huge terrace – works for both sides of your budget. Once you can't afford to keep going on the cocktails, go next door for a pastis and and a demi.

A sexy little wine cave near Longchamp with max cooking and other guest chefs. Nicolai and Max have also taken over a space called La Traverse near Malmosque in an art residency house. Keep an eye out for it this summer to head there on the weekends.

Fred's newly-opened cave just down the road from his first baby, Winesucker –a neighbourhood casual wine spot – Justine Pruvot is cooking there right now and her hyper-natural approach to cooking is sure to be a hit for the summer heatwave.

Small plates and wine, go up to the bonne mere for sunset and head here on the way back down!
