What Went Down at the Trippin x COMO VOCÊ Pre-Carnival Party in Brazil
On Friday we teamed up with COMO VOCÊ and threw a pre-carnival party in the neighbourhood of Madureira, to celebrate the wider bass culture and grime scene in Brazil.
The event took place on the rooftop of DUTO, a creative artspace overlooking Rio’s skyline which was founded by local rapper and community figure Dughettu. The up-and-coming venue has established itself as a hub for local and underserved communities in Rio’s north zone.
Supported by Ballantine’s & their True Music platform, the party was host to some of the biggest boundary pushers and emerging talent within the Brazilian underground scene. Their genre-defying campaign strives to represent and celebrate music communities and the people that make them thrive. The night featured live sets from DJs Peroli, Akai, Ak1n and Juan, and energetic performances from MC Lizzie and Sodomita who took the stage, before closing with the fiery fusion from lyricists SD9 and VND.
A big thanks to our social host Muse Maya, covering the party on our IG and a massive shoutout to everyone who rolled through bringing the energy all night.
