LA’s Best Spas and Steam Rooms, Chosen by Hyd
After the release of their self-titled EP in 2021, Hyd returns with their debut album CLEARING. Written and recorded alongside the late SOPHIE, A. G. Cook., Caroline Polachek, Jónsi, EASYFUN and Ö, the PC Music signee builds on their intimate, glossy pop sound, rooting it to geographic elements around the world. CLEARING was created in Lanzarote – a volcanic island – and explores the elements fire, ash, mist and water.
The latter is one of the strongest themes on Hyd's new LP, and the album artwork features the artist submerged in cool, icy waters. It's a fitting accompaniment to their sound: pop that's both spectral and fluid.
Inspired by water and steam rooms, the artist is well-versed on spaces in which to enjoy some downtime in Los Angeles. In this guide, the PC Music affiliate picks their top four spas and steam rooms in the city – spaces to reinvigorate the senses.
