This list of black-owned businesses in Amsterdam is a result of collaboration across our global community and is by no means exhaustive. Kids Academy

This day care centre has a team of pedagogical staff with diverse cultural backgrounds who help to provide home replacement care for children whose parents come from different countries.

Patta

Patta is a Dutch streetwear and sneaker boutique based in Amsterdam, founded by Edson Sabajo and Guillaume Schmidt in 2004. Starting out as a platform, which sold exclusive items that was collected, they then began to collaborate with the likes of ASICS, adidas, Converse, Nike, Reebok among other brands, after their increased online presence.

Annie's Place

If you don’t know this place, you'll never find it. This Surinamese take-away place is tucked away in a small nondescript building in Venserpolder, Amsterdam Zuid-Oost. The fish is Annie’s signature dish. It is American butterfish, fried to perfection and served with banana and cassave.

“Areaboy” is a term used most especially in Nigeria, to describe a member of loosely organised gangs and youth that roam and run the streets of the city. Drawing from the idea of carefreeness, Ghanian-Dutch multidisciplinary, Osborne Stjeward, launched this Amsterdam-based brand and movement.
