Peeralada Sukawat – otherwise known by her moniker Pyra – is a Thai artist who folds social media activism into her distinct form of "dystopian pop".

Sukawat's TikTok account surged in popularity during the Covid pandemic for her videos in which she criticises the junta government that took control of Thailand in 2014. Her art is distinctly tied to location and political views too, with a 2020 single, entitled Bangkok, referencing a 1976 student massacre at Thammasat University.

Since, she's been hailed as one to watch. Aside from writing and singing, the multi-hyphenate also directs her own music videos; helming her own narratives across sound and vits accompanying visuals.

As an artist who draws from her home city, we asked her where we should go within Bangkok. Below is a travel guide she's curated that features a mix of spaces to visit.
