I would pull up between 11:30PM -12:30AM, the whole place has super unique vibes, almost like taking you through a time machine but ending at a lit party. All the times I’ve been they are playing Hip Hop. I really like the fact that there is a no photos policy and it sets a tone for everyone to lounge. Coolest part is the secret entrance, and they have the best drinks in the city... ask for the “old fashioned” and tell them 12 sent you.

2:30AM on a Saturday, reason I say that is because this is the spot you go before you go to the next spot. This place has the BEST donuts I’ve ever had let alone in Toronto, it’s a party vibe when you pull up, always bumping music and it's right in the centre of all the clubs. Little secret... ask for the 12AM donut.

Best time to arrive is after 12:30, that’s when it starts getting crazy and everyone wants to get in. I always know it's going to be a good night when DJ.... is spinning. What I like most about LoveChild is the aesthetic and the overall size of the club, a big club allows for a lot of people and a way better dancefloor. I would say what makes this place special is the dancers, they are always setting a tone for a lit night.

I would get here after 1 it’s the spot after the spot. It’s a piece of America within Canada and make sure to bring your one’s because you can’t throw loonies... If you are pulling up to this spot it is essential to make it rain.

Getting here at 9:30PM is the move, first thing I order is a baked crab handroll and the fried chicken followed by a couple drinks and some lava cake. Best part about this place is the aesthetic, once the food and drinks kick in, it’s the telltale sign the night just got started.

This is where the night goes all night. You can pull up anytime you want but once you get here expect to spend at least 4-5 hours. This is the place you pull up with your friends who are more focused on getting kills in COD than shots at the bar. What makes this place special to me is my passion for gaming.

Get here for 10PM if you can find a lane. Me and my friends love golf so if you are a golfer you are in for a night of fun. The best part about this place is that you get to bring your own food and drinks and good times are guaranteed. Although this isn’t a conventional late-night spot it brings the best late-night vibes.

The Sand Trap Golf Lounge 

Mademoiselle is the spot to pull up to at 1130. The oysters are fire... the drinks are incredible and the atmosphere is perfect for the date you want to impress. The lighting and sound in this place leaves you with a special feeling that makes you want to come back time and time again.

It’s hiding in plain sight, in the centre opposite Tivoli in between 2 huge Irish pubs. It's basically just a black door, at night theres a bouncer but it's just straight up techno until 8am. They're doing this safe space, so there absolutely no discrimination allowed. If anything happens you can tell the bouncer. You also get this sticker on your phone so you’re not allowed to take any pictures. They want it to be a safe space where people can dress how ever they like and do whatever they like.

Every first Friday of the month MMH host a residence only night. All the resident DJs on our rota get a chance to go through and play. We pair them up all randomly and put people of different genres together. It's always a really good turn out. It's always fun. It’s a good place if you're not from here to meet people. Its here in the meat packing district.

We took a trip to Arisaig, Scotland with MW guiding us to go sea kayaking. The water is so clear it looks like the Caribbean, we kayaked from island to island spotting seals as we went. With the right equipment you can also go wild camping, snorkelling or fishing.

A photoshoot took us walking the Watkins Path of Snowdonia. We were following the river up which twists and turns through many rock pools and waterfalls, the rock pools make the perfect spot to stop for a swim and cliff jumping! The clearest water and easy to access.

Where I am from in Rickmansworth, there are a lot of lakes that you can go sailing on and spots that would be great for wild swimming. I haven’t been back in years but have fond memories. Catch a short train from London and take an easy stroll around them, it's a great spot to go if you just want to be in nature and surrounded by water.

There is a lake at the bottom of Pen Y Fan, great spot for a wild swim after a long hike. You can pitch up for the night in the nearby forest and wild camp next to small streams. It's a great spot for a few days as with the right equipment this water can be used for drinking water and to clean your cook sets!

Detroit is the birthplace of Techno and still hosts one of the most prestigious electronic music festivals in the world, contextually giving the city a rich history with record stores and DJ culture. Paramita is an unique record store that is also a wine bar and a steward in the Detroit beat scene.

Detroit is a potential gold-mine for the cannabis industry and will see an influx of jobs and industry in the city once marijuana is fully recreational. One disproportionate measure of the cannabis industry is that only 4.3% of the business is controlled by black owned companies. Furthermore, despite roughly equal usage rates, blacks in America are 3.73 times more likely than whites to be arrested for marijuana. Viola is a black-owned business and my favourite medicinal dispensary in the city, owned by former NBA star Al Harrington.

Cliff Bells is a Detroit institution and my favourite brunch in the city. Pre-Covid you could drop in here on a weekend morning or afternoon to hear live jazz with a scene that feels like a time machine or out of a Fred Astaire movie, as the NY Times described it.

With iconic shoe collaborations (see: New Balance) and a pivotal place in the street wear scene, especially in the Midwest - Burn Rubber shaped culture through its employees and friends that include Big Sean, Jay John Henry, Cliff Skighwalker and more hometown heroes.

Sweet Water is across the street from my favourite concert venue in Detroit, St. Andrews Hall. It was a ritual to visit Sweet Water before and after concerts to grab a meal. I haven’t eaten meat regularly in almost three years, but I still dream about their Buffalo Wings.

A library-esq used book store that boasts over an over 1-million book inventory across their two locations in Detroit and nearby suburb Ferndale. My father used to take me here as a kid and I would try my hardest to get lost in the maze-like-store so I could read until my heart was content.

Detroit has gotten a lot of attention for ‘ruin porn’; the trend of photographing delapitated buildings as if that was what represents the city. The Heidelberg Project flips that trend on it’s head a bit; as a city block-long outdoor community art exhibit that transforms discarded items into exhibits, sculptures and statements.

Coney Islands are kinda to Detroit as Waffle House is to Atlanta. There are so many great ones across all of Michigan including Lou’s in Detroit, Abe’s in Ypsilanti, and Sparty’s in East Lansing (where I went to college at Michigan State.) For this guide and looking at Downtown Detroit - the debate is American Coney Island vs Lafayette Coney Island, which sit next door from one-another. If you ask me its Lafayette all day.

This is my favorite thrift store and one I only discovered earlier this year. They've got everything from vintage clothing, to film cameras and super 8's, to vinyls and record players all at really affordable prices. Highly recommend this space as you'd spend the whole day perusing through wonderland.

My best friend has had a baby and I finally realised that a good kindergarten is essential. Sankofa is Black-owned kindergarten. [It] has an Afrodiasporic and bilingual early childhood programme for children between the ages of one and six in the city. It was founded by a group of parents, and childrens’ parents play an active role in the overall management of the place.

Gallery Artbeat is one of the pioneering contemporary art galleries based in Tbilisi, Georgia, representing mid-career and emerging Georgian artists. Between 2014 and 2017 the gallery started its journey as a project space, a moving gallery using a shipping container for site-specific exhibitions to introduce contemporary art in peripheral locations where museums and galleries don't function. In 2017 the gallery found its permanent home in the heart of Tbilisi. The Why Not Gallery was founded in 2018 by two friends, artist Gvantsa Jishkariani and curator Ellen Kapanadze with an intention to support young Georgian artists. The gallery welcomes and encourages all sorts of experimentation and trials. They work with local practitioners in many media, such as Ana Chaduneli, George Nebieridze, Mariam Aqubardia, Shalva Nikvashvili, Ani Gurashvili and more. The gallery also hosts The Why Not Gallery Gift Shop, which closely partners with Georgian artists to release limited edition goods.

Patara gallery is an artist-run space, initially located in a busy underground passage in central Tbilisi that changed many sites in a nomadic manner. Patara, Georgian for ‘small’, is a darling of the city. [It was] founded in 2017 as the only artist-run, non-commercial space for young and daring art by Gvantsa Jishkariani and Nata Kipiani. This is a place where the invisible barrier between public and sterile – a stressful atmosphere of contemporary art galleries – is destroyed as exhibitions are visible from the outside, allowing passersby to [see] what they currently have on display. This small vitrine space utilised as a gallery discovers unknown artists, thus taking many risks, embracing mistakes, and creating a public means of experiencing contemporary art.

Gallery 4710 is a contemporary art gallery that opened in 2019. The gallery mainly collaborates with emerging Georgian artists. However, a number of mid-career artists have been shown in a group or duo show format; among them Natela Iankoshvili, Thea Gvetadze, Tamuna Sirbiladze, Gio Sumbadze, Keti Kapanadze, Vajiko Chachkhiani, Leila Shelia and Nino Kvrivishvili. It aims to function as a discovery platform that introduces local newcomers to a larger, international public, as well as gives that space for executing debut solo shows for many, like Salome Jokhadze, Tamar Nadiradze, Tornike Robakidze, Merab Gugunashvili, Aleksandre Beglarishvili, Teimuraz Eristavi, Tornike Gognadze, Mari Kalabegashvili, Anka Bochorishvili and more.

Maudi is a multifunctional space for contemporary art, founded by a team of architects – Lado Shonia and Dimitri Eristavi – and curator Liza Zhvania. The exhibition space is situated in the Soviet industrial heritage building named after the material ‘maudi’ (​​broadcloth) manufactured there. Rather than a gallery, a project space hosts various events and happenings, such as contemporary art or architecture exhibitions, performances, live music sessions of different genres, and talks.
