Haiti is located on the west side of Hispaniola island in the Caribbean Sea, bordering the Dominican Republic to the east. The country is characterised by azure waters and sandy shores, rivalling the Caribbean’s most picturesque coastal spots. Haiti is also one of the most mountainous Caribbean countries—its name derives from the Taíno word Ayiti, which translates to “land of high mountains”. The rugged terrain offers mesmerising panoramic views of the island, spectacular hikes, and countless waterfalls.

Culturally, Haiti is a country of resistance—where warm-hearted locals live by the saying pa gen pwoblem,' — for no problems.  Unfortunately, the country is scarred by historical and contemporary hardships, making it unsafe for tourism.

Our guides below show Haiti for what it is: a country of amazing destinations with a vibrant culture that’s upheld by warm, brave-hearted people. One day, soon, we hope Haiti will once again be able to welcome visitors to proudly show the joys of one of the world’s most resilient nations.

In the meantime, find our guide on how to support Haiti below.
