Shawn Wasabi's Filipino Neighbourhood Guide to LA

Shawn Wasabi for Trippin
Shawn Wasabi

Electronic producer Shawn Wasabi shares his personal Filipino neighbourhood guide, comprised of his favourite local spots to hit up in Los Angeles. The California-born artist, has been involved in music since the age of four. His effortless beat-making skills combined with a bubblegum imagination have earned him international esteem.

The Los Angeles and San Francisco areas have incredible pockets of Filipino culture, due to both cities accounting for more than half of Cali- fornia's Filipino diaspora population. Historic Filipinotown (one of Shawn’s recommendations) is a district of the city of Los Angeles, making up the southwest portion of Echo Park, which is steeped in old school history and a neighborhood we recommend hitting up.

From legendary Filipino food joints to local supermarkets, Shawn Wasabi shares his favourite Los Angeles Filipino hot spots in a delicious guide that focuses on Filipino culture and his heritage.
